Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using ChurchConnect, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please do not use our service.

We reserve the right to update and change these Terms of Service by posting updates and changes to our website. You are advised to check the Terms of Service from time to time for any updates or changes that may impact you.

Use of Service

ChurchConnect is a platform designed to help churches and faith communities communicate, organize, and grow together. You may use our service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

You agree not to use ChurchConnect:

  • In any way that violates any applicable national or international law or regulation
  • To transmit, or procure the sending of, any advertising or promotional material without our prior written consent
  • To impersonate or attempt to impersonate the Company, a Company employee, another user, or any other person or entity
  • In any way that infringes upon the rights of others, or in any way is illegal, threatening, fraudulent, or harmful
  • To engage in any other conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of the service

User Responsibilities

As a user of ChurchConnect, you are responsible for:

  • Account Security: Maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password
  • Content: All content you post, share, or transmit through the service
  • Accuracy: Providing accurate and complete information when creating your account
  • Compliance: Complying with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Respectful Communication: Treating other users with respect and dignity

You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.

Subscription & Billing

ChurchConnect offers both Free and Pro subscription plans:

  • Free Plan: Limited to 50 members with basic features
  • Pro Plan: Unlimited members with premium features including AI Assistant, analytics, and custom branding
  • Trial Period: New churches receive a 3-days free trial of Pro features

Payment Terms

  • Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely through Stripe, a PCI-compliant third-party payment processor
  • Automatic Renewal: Pro subscriptions automatically renew on a monthly or annual basis (depending on your plan) unless cancelled before the renewal date
  • Payment Authorization: By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees to your payment method
  • Failed Payments: If a payment fails, we will attempt to charge your payment method again. Continued payment failure may result in suspension or downgrade of your account
  • Currency: All prices are listed in USD unless otherwise specified

Cancellation and Refunds

  • Cancellation: You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time from your account settings or by contacting support
  • Access After Cancellation: Upon cancellation, you will retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period, then automatically downgrade to the Free plan
  • No Partial Refunds: We do not offer refunds for partial months or years. If you cancel, you will not be charged for subsequent billing periods
  • Trial Cancellation: If you cancel during the free trial period, you will not be charged
  • Refund Exceptions: Refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis for extenuating circumstances. Contact support to request a refund

Price Changes

We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing at any time. For existing subscribers:

  • You will receive at least 30 days advance notice of any price increases
  • The new pricing will take effect on your next renewal date after the notice period
  • You may cancel your subscription before the price change takes effect to avoid the new pricing
  • Continuing to use the service after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new pricing

Taxes

Prices do not include applicable sales tax, VAT, GST, or other taxes. You are responsible for any taxes that may apply based on your location. We will collect and remit taxes as required by law.

Intellectual Property

The service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by ChurchConnect and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

You retain all rights to the content you post on ChurchConnect. By posting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display that content solely for the purpose of providing our service.

AI-Powered Features

ChurchConnect includes AI-powered features such as the Faith Assistant and automated support responses. By using these features, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

AI Limitations and Disclaimers

  • No Professional Advice: AI-generated responses are for informational and inspirational purposes only and do not constitute professional theological, spiritual, medical, legal, or financial advice
  • Accuracy Not Guaranteed: While we strive for accuracy, AI may occasionally produce incorrect, incomplete, or misleading information. Always verify important information independently
  • Not a Substitute for Pastoral Care: AI features are not a replacement for genuine pastoral care, counseling, or human spiritual guidance
  • Human Oversight Recommended: Church leaders should review AI-generated content before relying on it for important decisions or communications
  • No Emergency Services: AI features are not equipped to handle emergencies. If you are experiencing a crisis, please contact appropriate emergency services or crisis support

Appropriate Use of AI Features

  • AI features are provided to assist with church administration, biblical study, prayer support, and community engagement
  • You agree not to attempt to manipulate, abuse, or exploit AI features for purposes outside their intended use
  • You will not use AI features to generate harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content
  • Usage may be subject to rate limits and quotas based on your subscription plan

AI Content Ownership

Content generated by AI features is provided to you for your use. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving any AI-generated content before publishing or sharing it with your community. We do not claim ownership of content you create using AI features.

Content Moderation

We reserve the right to review, monitor, and remove content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable. Church administrators have the ability to moderate content within their own communities.

We do not pre-screen content, but we reserve the right to remove content that:

  • Violates our Terms of Service
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Contains hate speech, harassment, or threats
  • Is spam or misleading
  • Is illegal or promotes illegal activity

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings. Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using the service or delete your account from settings.

All provisions of the Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall ChurchConnect, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the service
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the service
  • Any content obtained from the service, including AI-generated content
  • Unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content
  • Payment processing errors or disputes with Stripe
  • Inaccuracies, errors, or omissions in AI-generated responses or suggestions
  • Any reliance on AI-generated content for decisions

The service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the service's reliability, availability, accuracy, or ability to meet your needs.

In jurisdictions where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims arising from or relating to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months prior to the event giving rise to liability, or $100, whichever is greater.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless ChurchConnect and its licensee and licensors, and their employees, contractors, agents, officers and directors, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses arising from your use of the service or violation of these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.

Changes to Service

We reserve the right to withdraw or amend our service, and any service or material we provide, in our sole discretion without notice. We will not be liable if for any reason all or any part of the service is unavailable at any time or for any period.
